Alvear Palace Hotel

Alvear Palace belongs among the most famous hotels in the world and I was excited to see how good “The Grand Dame of Buenos Aires” could be.

I arrived from the airport and received a warm welcome before getting escorted to the room by the butler.

I stayed in a Deluxe suite which was one of their higher categories of suites. It had a separate livingroom from the bedroom and a jacuzzi in the bathroom as the highlights. Hermes products in the bathroom was another nice detail and the bed was very nice as well.

The butler service was great. Very professional staff on each floor which made personalized service possible. I liked it, but I also saw the butler use Facebook while at the desk which in my opinion is unacceptable. The general service level in Alvear Palace high, but some areas could have better English level.

One of Alvear Palace’s restaurants is a high end Relais&Chateaux. Restaurant Jean-Paul Bondoux was a great lunch experience and highly recommnd to check out. The facilities were great as well including a fantastic spa.

Overall a great classical hotel. I normally don’t like butler service, but Alvear Palace had some of the best I’ve seen in any hotel. The rest of the staff had a very high service level as well and it was a hotel that worked in all areas. Highly recommended as the place to stay in Buenos Aires.

My opinion: Great+ experience.
