Baltschug Kempinski Moscow

Kempinski Moscow is a member of The Leading Hotels of the World and that was my main reason for selecting it as one of my three hotels in Moscow. Kempinski is a brand with quality hotels around the world, but like most brands it’s not very stable. They have some fantastic property, but also some quite average ones.

I arrived in the hotel and had a quick check in before being escorted to my room. A Kremlin Suite with wonderful views of Moscow and Kremlin. One thing that irritated me was the smoking policy. You can’t get a non smoking room. They told me I was in a non smoking room, but if you smoke in the room nothing will happen to you. In USA you will be fined 500 dollars if smoke detectors is activated, but Baltschug Kempinski din’t have any smoke detectors. The suite was like the rest of the hotel dated in parts, but the fantastic views made it up. I didn’t like the bed very much and would be another thing Kempinski could look at. The service was very good though and that’s what’s keep this hotel in the LHW. Professional staff as you would expect in business hotel. The facilities could need an update as well, but the breakfast was fully acceptable with a large selection of food.

Overall it’s a business hotel that delivers on a business hotels most important points. Well trained staff and everything works like a machine. Nothing is personalized, but it does what you would expect. A good business hotel.

My opinion: Good experience.
