Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort is Aruba’s premium resort with two interesting details. The only adult-only resort and the only credit-card-only resort I have stayed anywhere in the world. Cash is simply not an option.
I first visited Aruba in 2008 and had a fantastic time and stay in Marriott which at that time was a real luxury hotel for me. When I compare the stay with Bucuti & Tara I have to say they are pretty equal in quality. Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort has won a number of awards and been featured in Condé Nast Traveler so I was excited. The rooms disappointed me and wasn’t better than Marriott’s 5 years ago. The bathroom products was made in large containers you can’t take with you as a way to save money and what’s most often seen in budget hotels, never in luxury hotels. The rooms were fully comfortable though and had flatscreen Tv’s and high speed internet access as highlights. The beach was only a few steps away and very beautiful, although crowded. Aruba is a real KFC-destination, unfortunately. It’s massive tourism without any extraordinary hotels. The closest will probably be Ritz-Carlton which opens in November this year. The service in this property was very kind, but more training wouldn’t hurt in various departments. The breakfast didn’t impress me as it could have had a better selection of food and teas.
The bottom line is that Bucuti & Yara Beach Resort probably is the best resort in Aruba, but not comparable with Caribbean’s bests. It has very nice staff and a very beautiful beach and if that is enough for you this place can be your home for an amazing holiday.
My opinion: Good experience.
