Carol Parc is the most expensive hotel in Romania and with only 17 rooms I expected a very personalized experience. It was also included in Condé Nast Travelers Hot List as one of the best new places to stay in 2008.
The arrival experience was very nice. The hotel building is very beautiful with a grand feel and I was surprised to see a doorman as most small hotels don’t have that. I checked in and the doorman escorted me to the room. I stayed in a standard Premium Room which were old fashioned and with it’s own style. The bathroom had Bulgari amenities and a special design I really liked. The room was overall nothing special, but a comfortable room with everything you need.
A plus for the complimentary internet, but a big minus for not replacing their Tv’s. Also a big minus for allowing smoking in their public areas. There isn’t any law against it in Romania, but hotels can decide to allow it or not and unfortunately Carol Parc allows it. The best thing about Carol Parc is that everything works and that the staff is very kind and helpful. Bucharest isn’t a great hotel city, but Carol Parc Hotel is a very good hotel and recommended as the place to stay.
My opinion: Good+ experience.
