Clove Hall was featured in Conde Nast Traveller’s Hot List 2 years ago as one of the best new places in the world to stay. That combined with incredible Tripadvisor reviews made my decision to stay here easy.Having travelled to many different kinds of hotels, I can honestly say I prefer smaller hotels, but only if the service is good enough. In large hotels, you often feel more like a number than a guest. I arrived in Clove Hall with taxi from the bus station and had a friendly welcome. I felt out a registration form and was escorted to one of their suites. After that I was offered a welcome drink regarding soft drink, it was probably the first hotel I’ve stayed that don’t have their own welcome drink. The hotel it like a home without the facilities you usually finds in hotels. There is no restaurant, business centre, spa or fitness. Instead, there is a very beautiful swimming pool. The internet is complimentary and worked fine throughout my stay.
Back to the suite. It had a really nice colonial design with flat screen Tv and DVD-player. It even had its own balcony, and it was a nice place to relax in peace. The service was very basic. They were all friendly, but it’s far from the service you receive in the world’s best hotels. Overall it was a nice, different and interesting experience.
My opinion: Good experience.
