Delaire Graff Estate

Delaire Graff Estate opened in 2010 and immediately received wonderful reviews and an inclusion in Condé Nast Traveler’s Hot List. These facts and the high rates made it an easy decision to check it out for my project.
Delaire Graff Estate only has 10 rooms, which are all villas. I arrived in the afternoon in this intimate hotel and received a warm welcome before being escorted to the room.

I stayed in a Luxury Lodge as their villas is called. 80 square metres with a large private swimming pool as the highlight. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom had lovely Aromatherapy Associates products.

Delaire Graff Estate is located near Stellenbosch in one of the most beautiful locations I’ve seen. The concept is lovely as well as you get internet, minibar and laundry complimentary.

The food was very pricey after South African standards, but probably also the best food I’ve eaten in South Africa. I had breakfast, lunch and dinner in the hotel’s two restaurants and they were all great experiences. The service level in the restaurants was very impressive as well with very kind staffs. The general service level met my expectations, but needs improvements to compete with the very best hotels I’ve stayed.

Another thing I loved about Delaire was the private cinema. It’s located next to the reception and it’s a lovely place to relax with a movie in the evening.

Overall a fantastic experience and one of my favorites. It’s a unique and special place I can’t recommend enough.

My opinion: Fantastic experience.
