Filitheyo Island Resort is a part of AAA Resorts and after great experiences in Zitahli and Medhufushi in the past, I arrived with high expectations after a beautiful seaplane ride. The arrival experience was a little slow and it took long time before it was my turn to check in. I waited even longer to be escorted to the room, but it finally happen. I stayed in a Water Villa which had a nice feature with sand at the entrance to the room. It was also unique in the terms of room design as the bathroom is the entrance. It had a jacuzzi tub, separate shower, toilet and 2 sinks. The combined bedroom- and livingroom had a hard bed, flatscreen Tv and sitting area. The internet is unfortunately chargeable which every traveller can agree isn’t okay.
Filitheyo Island Resort unfortunately isn’t in the same league as Zitahli and Medhufushi. This is primary due to the service which often was slow and disorganized. I called 10 times in 30 minutes and nobody picked up the phone and front desk and they had no excuse for it. Just “we were not here”. The food at Medhufushi was extraordinary for Maldives, but Filitheyo isn’t on that level. The buffet is very good and fair for the price, but the quality difference is easy to see.
The bottom line is that Filitheyo surely is a nice resort with good value in the summer season, but the service is something they have to improve to reach the standards of AAA Resorts.
My opinion: Good+ experience.
