Hacienda Rumiloma

As a hotel passionist I’m always looking for the extraordinary unknown experiences. Based on Condé Nast Johansens and Tripadvisor Hacienda Rumiloma looked like a very interesting experience, but I had no idea it could be an incredible one.

I arrived in the airport where the hotel picked me up and after 10 minutes I arrived in Hacienda Rumiloma to a warm welcome.

I stayed in a Superior Rumiloma Suite and it was uniquely designed with attention to every detail. It had a fantastic view of Quito and it was unlike anywhere else I’ve stayed in the world. This is an all-suite hotel and with only 7 suites I had expectations for the service. It exceeded my expectations with very friendly staff that however don’t have the best English level. It wasn’t really a problem and the manager spoke a good English. The food was an even bigger surprise than the service. Both dinner and breakfast was excellent and this is a property Relais&Chateaux should look at, it could be one of their better properties. The food is expensive for Quito, but excellent value if you compare the quality with the rest of the world.

Overall a surprisingly wonderful experience. Uniquely designed rooms, friendly, personalized service and great food. Super value for the experience as well and a must to try when visiting South America.

My opinion: Great+ experience.
