I arrived in the train station where the hotel picked me up before receiving a warm welcome by the receptionists. I was escorted directly to the room before the offered me a drink in the bar.
I stayed in a Grand Deluxe Suite which had a very homely feeling to it. It’s own fireplace and the most comfortable, soft bed I have ever slept in. The bathroom had nice products and separate shower from the bathtub. Besides the homely feeling I loved the fireplace and the beautiful views from the windows.
Het Roode Koper don’t have gym or spa and can therefore not be a 5 star hotel, but as said many times before: Stars have nothing to say when it comes to hotel experiences. It only shows how many facilities you have. In terms of facilities Het Rooder Koper would be a 3 star, but in terms of experience it is definitely a 5 star.
The dining experience was fantastic. The food was a real experience and I find it very hard to believe Roode Koper doesn’t have a Michelin star. Somelier Rik and the rest of the staff were very passionate and delivered personalized service at a very high level. Relais&Chateaux can be very proud to have this hotel in their collection.
Overall an excellent experience. It’s the most homely hotel I have stayed with fantastic staff and food.
My opinion: Great+ experience.
