The owner picked me up from Pepinster train station and I received a warm welcome from the staff before being escorted to the room.
I stayed in one of their three junior suites. It had a very nice homely design, separate sitting area, very comfortable bed and a great bathroom. The bathroom had Bulgari amenities, jacuzzi tub and a separate shower. The suite also had a balcony with beautiful views of the property.
Cuisine is one of Relais&Chateaux’s 5C’s and therefore very important. I had dinner in their 1 star Michelin restaurant and it was a really great experience. It’s their ambition to reach a second star and in my opinion they definitely deserve it. Their 5 course menu will make you full and give you memorable experience in food and service. It’s very personalized as there is only a few other guests around.
Hostellerie Lafarque has smaller business facilities and a lounge area, but besides that no facilities. People come to Hostellerie Lafarque for the food and to enjoy a beautiful property with great service.
Service is always the most important thing and it was really great and personalized. The staff managed many languages, but some could have a better English level. For me it wasn’t really a problem and majority of guests come from the nearby countries which requires 3-4 different language so it’s important to keep that in mind as well.
Overall a lovely country hotel with extraordinary food in a beautiful location. I love the homely feeling and it’s definitely a hotel to visit again.
My opinion: Great+ experience.
