As I have now been to every country in the world, it is time to look back at my visit to one of the most dangerous countries in the world. Afghanistan.

Afghanistan is unfortunately not a tourist destination due to the current situation, but it’s a real shame as the country has a lot to offer. I recently visited Kabul as a tourist after doing a lot of research, as safety was a concern. A visit to the country can be done completely safely with Afghan Logistics & Tours. I did a lot of research about this company and everyone I contacted only had positive experiences including some journalists and expats.

All the positive feedback made me feel safe about going to Afghanistan and very excited for a unique travel experience. All the correspondence with Afghan Tours & Logistics was excellent, and I had an eight-hour city tour of Kabul with a top professional guide, driver and an armed guard.

Any experienced traveller will tell you the same thing: Never trust the media’s view of a country. I never felt afraid in Afghanistan and I saw how hospitable the people are. Afghan Logistics & Tours showed me several of Kabul sights, and I was also able to walk the streets of Kabul at two markets. They also took care of my airport transfers from Kabul Serena Hotel (Afghanistan’s 5-star hotel) and everything was well-organized and top professional.

Visa:
I obtained my visa in Dubai, and it only took 2 hours with no requirements. An invitation letter is required at some embassies, but mostly not. In Dubai, it cost 40 dollars, and you must bring two passport photos.

Flights:
Several airlines are flying from Dubai. The cheapest airline is Air Arabia that flies from Sharjah Airport, 20 minutes from Dubai. A good alternative would be Fly Dubai.

My visit to Afghanistan was limited to Kabul and only 25 hours total, but it was a unique travel experience with a top professional company. Their prices are very reasonable for the experience you get, and you will feel completely safe from beginning to end.
