Jumeirah Dhevanafushi

When I heard Jumeirah wanted to open a so called 7 star resort in the Maldives I immediately became very interested. Burj Al Arab is perhaps the most famous hotel in the world and with rates higher than Burj Al Arab I had high expectations.

I stayed in a Island Revive Villa and it had 306 square metres of pure luxury. Large private swimming pool and the biggest bed I’ve ever seen as the highlights. The bathroom was also quite spectacular with a very large bath tub. The design wasn’t my personal favorite, but it will all have to do with your personal taste.

The concept of Jumeirah Dhevanafushi is like two resorts in one. Where the over water villas is like a private resort within the resort. They are priced even higher than the beach villa I stayed in which is priced at 4.000 dollars pr. night. It makes Jumeirah Dhevanafushi one of the most expensive hotels in the world and sure the expectations for the service was high.

As in every other new hotel there was things that needed to be improved. Their butler service wasn’t good as the butler was new in the hotel industry. After my stay they have taken him out of operation as they realized he simply didn’t have the qualifications. The other staff was really great and a lot of things already works in Jumeirah Dhevanafushi. The dinner was a very pleasant experience and definitely works already. The prices is of course very high but Jumeirah Dhevanafushi is a hotel for people where money is no object.

The facilities was very good with a over water gym where you will see the crystal blu water Maldives is famous for. It remains my paradise number one and still as beautiful as last year.

Overall it’s a property with huge potential, but with beginner problems as expected. I put that into perspective and being one of the most expensive hotels in the world they definitely have something to improve. Jumeirah is one of the best chains in the world and I’m sure the experience will be even better in the future.

My opinion: Great+ experience.
