Rwanda is one of my new favourite countries in Africa. A fantastic experience in every way with friendly people and incredible landscapes. Kigali Serena Hotel was my last stop before going to Burundi and based on my experiences with Serena hotels in the past I knew it would be up to a high standard. Unlike many of Serenas other properties, this isn’t a member of The Leading Hotels of the World, but could easily have been so.
The property is a great business hotel, has 104 air conditioned rooms and is a fairly small hotel compared to other business hotels. The staff are professional and the hotel feels well-run. The facilities includes a newer spa and great business facilities which is important as most guests are here for business.
The location is great right in the centre of the city and one thing I personally loved was that you can get anywhere in the city on a motorbike-taxi for less than a dollar. They are available just outside the street of the hotel.
Finally it’s worth to mention the stay ended with a great breakfast and I will always have great memories of Kigali and Rwanda and would love to return someday in a not too distant future.
My opinion: Great experience.
