Below is my experience based on a one-night stay at the property.
My Arrival Experience: Friendly welcome from the staff. Escorted to the room.
What I loved: The island itself.
What About the Food: It was far from the standard of 5-star resorts in the Maldives, but I would say the same about resorts like Paradise Island and Royal Island.
What About the Service: Mixed feelings as expected. Keep in mind that Nika Island is a lot cheaper than almost all 5-star resorts in the Maldives, and you just can’t expect the same. Some are good, while others need a lot more training. The attention to details was lacking, and service would not be the reason to select Nika.
What About the Rooms: Basic, but comfortable rooms with a hard bed and a good rain shower. What I liked most about the room was to find natural soap in the bathroom. The reason to select Nika Island is to have the Maldivian experience at a much lower price, but without the service and luxury found at the more expensive resorts.
Number of Rooms: 45.
Type of Property: Resort.
Facilities: Spa, gym and pool.
Complimentary Internet: Yes, but slow. However, happy it worked in the room.
My Overall Impression: Good experience. One of the cheapest 5-star resorts in the Maldives. It’s a stunning island, and most will have a very good time. Just don’t expect Four Seasons or even Sheraton-level.
