Pilgrimage Village

Pilgrimage Village is a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World and because of that, I decided me to try it out. Their rates are quite low compared with other SLH hotels, but reasons might be that this is the only property in Vietnam and that it’s not that small. 99 rooms in total. When I arrived, I was welcomed with a welcome drink and a cold towel before they escorted me to the room.

They upgraded me to a honeymoon bungalow, and it was beautiful and looked different from most rooms I’ve stayed in where the best feature was the outdoor shower. The service in this hotel is as good as you would expect it to be, but far from great. The food was a disappointment. The breakfast had an OK selection of food, but it wasn’t good at all. I ordered a vegetarian club sandwich from room service and it was the smallest I’ve ever seen Furthermore there were only ten pieces of french fries. Bad service, especially because when they told me on the phone that there would be enough for one person to get full.

At 8 PM two girls came to my room with a small goodnight story written on paper. It’s a detail I’ve never seen before, but it was very nice to try something different.

Overall this place is great value for people that haven’t been to the top hotels in the world. It’s a good place to stay, but not an unforgettable experience which I’m always seeking. Worth its membership of Small Luxury Hotels of the World regarding Vietnam’s few luxury hotels.

My opinion: Good experience.
