Riad AnaYela

AnaYela was included in Condé Nast Travelers Hot List as one of the best new places to stay and that was my main reason for selecting it as one of my hotels in Marrakesh.

The Hot List inclusion made me visit their website and the history of it. It’s a very small Riad with only 5 rooms and offers a quite different experience from what I’ve seen around the world.

First thing was that it’s not possible to arrive closely to the hotel. You have to walk through local markets and you will find no signs at all about AnaYela. It’s therefore important to tell them when you will arrive on the mainroad so they can meet you.

I did that and the manager Daniel met me and showed me the way to the hotel. He’s German, extremly helpful and friendly. I stayed in a standard Riad which had separate sitting area and a unique Moroccon design. Large bathtub and local products as well. Overall very nice.

The service was very good and the staff is very friendly as in most great small hotels. The rooftop has beautiful views of Marrakech and having breakfast up there was a nice little experience.

Overall a great different experience to the portfolio. It’s very costly, but people love the experience and I can of course recommend it as a different experience in Marrakesh.

My opinion: Good experience.
