The hotel picked me up in the airport and I received a nice welcome upon arrival where at least 10 staffs welcomed me. After a welcome drink in the lobby I was escorted to my room.
I stayed in a Garden Suite Villa and while it starts getting a little tired it was very nice. Large private swimmingpool, comfortable bed, special designed bath tub and L’Occitane products. Definitely a great suite. The welcome amenities included fruits and a welcome note from the general manager.
I’m not personally a big fan of Egypt and the service, but Oberoi lived up to it’s reputation. Great staff in most areas except the restaurant where I wouldn’t consider the service great. The food was fully acceptable, but it’s too expensive for what you get. It’s like that in many resorts though.
The facilities was up to the Oberoi standards as well and a large swimming pool had a great view of the Red Sea. What makes The Oberoi Sahl Hasheesh special is the design, location in the desert and service that is up to Oberoi’s standards.
Overall a great experience to the portfolio. It surely belongs in every lists of the best hotels in the world and is a quite unique experience in the desert.
My opinion: Great+ experience.
