W Montreal

W is Starwoods lifestyle brand and Montreal was my fifth experience with the brand which is very hard to judge. Four Seasons is known for it’s stability, but with W I consider their Maldives resort for one of the best in the world and Silicon Valley for one of the weakest hotels in my project. Based on my research I expected Montreal to be something in between and it was. W Seoul and Doha was great experiences and so was Montreal. Like a great W experience should be. My experience started the day before when I logged into my SPG account and saw an upgrade to their highest category of suites, The Extreme Wow Suite. SPG treat their platinum members fantastic and I’ve always been upgraded to a suite except for St. Regis Atlanta and Osaka because they were sold out.

The Extreme Wow Suite had wow factors. The great W Signature Bed, deep bath tub, dining table, balcony and 2 “55 inch flatscreen Tv’s. All with the contemporary design W is famous for. The internet costs 15 dollars pr. day, but is complimentary for platinum members of Starwood Preferred Guest. The facilities was fine with a very nice fitness centre and bar. The only thing left to comment on is the service and it exceeded my expectations. It was on the same level as in W Doha and Seoul and that was a big surprise. Very friendly and attentive staff and with personal handwritten card twice during my stay.

Overall it was a great W experience. It’s an unstable brand, but W Montreal is definitely one of the great ones.

My opinion: Great experience.
