After a great experience with Altis Bélem, it was time to explore their sister hotel Altis Avenida. They are both a member a member of Preferred Boutique and both relatively small for a city hotel. Altis Avenida has 72 rooms total and while Bélem is outside the city, Avenida is right in the city center with the best location I have experienced yet in Lisbon.
The check in process went fast and I was right after escorted to the room. I stayed in a Deluxe Room which was small in size, but with a lovely contemporary design and rain shower combined in the bathtub. Internet is complimentary and worked fine during my stay. While Altis Avenida had very imperssive facilities, this isn’t the reason to stay at Avenida. There isn’t much facilties, but the Portugese rating system anyhow gave them 5 stars for other reasons. The service is good at front desk, but the breakfast staff was really slow and after nobody asked came to my table after 5 minutes and went and asked for tea myself in the morning. The breakfast buffet could certainly be improved, but that is the case with many buffets in European city hotels, unfortunately.
There isn’t much to add about Altis Avenida. It’s a safe boutique choice in Lisbon and with good value for money. I rank it great because of the rooms and location, but also with the note that some things can be improved.
My opinion: Great experience.
