St. Barts is a place I always wanted to visit as several magazines have voted it one of the most beautiful places in the world. Eden Rock Hotel is famous for being beautiful as well and I arrived on the island with high expectations especially because of it’s Relais&Chateaux status. The hotel is located a few minutes from the airport where I was picked up. A cold tower and water was provided before the short drive to the check in. The check in went very nice before I was escorted to the room. I stayed in a Greta Garbo Suite which was extraordinary designed with one of the best sea views I’ve ever had. The welcome amenities for 5C members included champagne and snacks from the restaurant which was very nice. The service was in general very good, but far from the best hotels in Asia. Service is very important to create an incredible experience, but Eden Rock was very memorable because of the located, view, details and room. If they had extraordinary service it would easily be one of the worlds best hotels. One thing I will always remember negatively about Eden Rock was the most expensive room service menu I had ever seen. 32 Euros for a hamburger as the cheapest dish. Incredible. I know Relais&Chateaux always has great food, but I’ve never seen prices like this.
Overall it was a great and beautiful experience to the portfolio. St. Barth is a very beautiful and special place I would love to return to. It’s super expensive and not recommended if value is important.
My opinion: Great+ experience.
