Fairmont is a luxurious hotel brand with quality hotels around the world. Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac in Quebec was my first experience with the brand and it was a good one. The hotel is located within a castle that is established back in 1665 by Bruce Price and looks stunning. The hotel has 618 rooms and I didn’t have high expectations for the service. The service was OK with well trained staff, but nothing was personalized.
I stayed in a Frontenac Suite and while it was out-dated in parts it was very nice. Classical and separate living- and bedroom. The bed was too hard and not very comfortable to sleep in. What makes the hotel special is the classical design, the history and the castle itself. The facilities needs an update as well, but if Fairmont renovates this hotel and cut down the number of rooms it could become a really great experience.
Overall it was a very interesting experience to the portfolio. I don’t like hotels where you feel like a number, but it’s a very beautiful and classic hotel which it’s a good addition to the list.
My opinion: Good experience.
