JW Marriott Caracas is the best hotel in the entire country of Venezuela. The property has 269 rooms and feels like a typical Marriott hotel in many ways and just one problem. JW is the top brand of Marriott and it’s simply not up to those standards, but definitely among the better Marriott hotels.
The rooms are exactly what you would expect, -except they only have cable internet, not wifi which was a disappointment. The bed was very comfortable and the rooms have everything the business traveler could need. An interesting detail of this hotel was that the breakfast buffet was open to 1 PM which tell alot about the culture in a country. In most parts of the world it would close at 10 or 10.30. The service was professional with kind staff. Especially the concierge Marbella did a great job in explaining me the current situation of her country and where I could walk safely.
The executive lounge was closed due to renovation so I can’t comment on that. The breakfast was very good and I couldn’t find much to complain about. The biggest complain on Tripadvisor is the expensive rates and it’s definitely not great value for money, but Caracas is expensive and if only the best can do, this is the place.
My opinion: Good+ experience.
