Kampala Serena Hotel is Kampala’s best and most expensive hotel and is a member of The Leading Hotels of the World. The hotel feels a bit like a resort and is a great way to relax in the hectic city of Kampala. The hotel is however primary a business hotel and works very well. It has 152 rooms and I stayed in one of their standard deluxe rooms. It had a comfortable bed, working desk, flastcreen Tv and a nice bathroom with a good shower. Also note internet is complimentary in all Serena hotels and is a big plus for the chain compared to most chains which charges for it.
The staff is lovely, but as in most places in Africa more training would be great. The front desk was hard to fault with professional staff that made me feel like a guest, not like a number. The facilities included a gym, spa and business facilities.
The stay ended with a great breakfast and although the rates here are very high it’s hard to think of a better business hotel in East Africa.
My opinion: Great experience.
