Introduction: In the warm waters of the azure Indian Ocean lies a tropical dream island – Mirihi Island Resort. Combining modern and traditional elements, the small paradise has been freshly renovated and reopened in December 2014 with a new shine, but still maintaining its unique Maldivian character. Mirihi is located in the South Ari Atoll, reachable from Male on a 30-minute picturesque seaplane flight. Due to its size and limited number of Villas, Mirihi is considered as being one of the smallest islands in the Maldives.
Above information is how the hotel presents itself on their website.
Below is my experience based on a one-night stay at the property.
My Arrival Experience: Warm welcome from Günther and the staff before I got a welcome drink and had a nice talk before going to the room.
What I loved: The staff.
What About the Food: Very impressed with the food and they have made the effort. Swiss chef and high-quality food. Fresh local fish and expensive imported ingredients. Well done!
What About the Service: Fantastic staff and I believe it’s why this resort recently took the number one spot on Tripadvisor for guest satisfaction.
What About My Room: Although it might not be of Four Seasons standard, my water villa was lovely with an attractive design, comfortable bed, rain shower and, of course, stunning views.
Number of Rooms: 37.
Type of Property: Resort.
Facilities: Spa and gym. I had a 15-minutes welcome massage at the spa and found the therapist to be superb.
Complimentary Internet: Yes. Good WiFi connection. One issue with slow internet was quickly solved and immediately had fast WiFi.
My Overall Impression: Great+ experience. It’s one of the highest ranked resorts in the Maldives, and I loved it as well.
