Relais&Chateaux has never disapointed me before and based on reviews of Sonnenhof I arrived in the hotel with high expectations.
I received a friendly welcome before being escorted to my room. I stayed in their highest category of rooms, a junior suite and it was great. A beautiful design which had been renovated 2 years ago. I really liked it with separate sitting area, working desk and great welcome amenities. A nice bottle of local champagne as the highlight. The internet was complimentary as well and worked great.
Park Hotel Sonnenhof is a small hotel with only 29 rooms and it’s a perfect size for a hotel in my opinion. It gives the perfect opportunity to deliver personalized service and Park Hotel Sonnenhof delivered that. As in the other Relais&Chateaux’s I felt like a guest, not like in big hotels where you often feel you’re a number.
The facilities was lovely with a great spa and indoor swimming pool. This is a perfect place to relax in one of the world’s smallest capitals. Only 5.000 people in the town of Vaduz which is 10 minutes walk away from the hotel. The only in Sonnenhof disappointment was the breakfast. It was OK, but with Relais&Chateaux I always have very high expectations for the food. The buffet was not very fresh and the selection was very limited. The service was OK, but again I had expected more on this point from a Relais&Chateaux.
Overall highly recommended, but it’s a very costly affair like most hotels of this standard in this part of the world.
My opinion: Great+ experience.
