Relais Borgo Santo Pietro is a 13th cencury award winning destination hotel with 13 acres of gardens, 1 hour from Siena. It was included in the 2009 edition of Condé Nast Travelers Hot List as one of the best new places to stay in the world and 4 years after it’s opening, it about time to include it in the Gold List.
Borgo Santo Pietro has 15 rooms including 8 suites and I stayed in a Valle Serena Suite which is beautiful designed by the Danish owners. A specially made ultra-comfortable bed, freestanding bathtub and natual Santa Maria Novella products is the highlights. The water pressure of the shower was perfect and everything felt truly lovely. Although Borgo Santo Pietro is a place to relax, internet is always important for me. It’s a must to offer complimentary internet in 2012, but the speed tend to be quite slow in country hotels, but not here. Always stable high speed internet and makes Borgo Santo Pietro an option for business travellers in need of a weekend break.
The food is very important for Borgo Santo Pietro and they truly passionate about it. Lunch and dinner was truly great and could definitely deserve a Michelin star, all they need is more time. The breakfast is often a part of the hotel experience that disappoints me, but not here. Borgo Santo Pietro has one of the best breakfast I’ve experienced. The open-plan kitchen has a large buffet and possibility of making you whatever you would like. A true gourmet breakfast.
I have stayed in many beautiful country houses, but the service and attention to detail makes Borgo Santo Pietro one of the bests. The arrival experience is important and in Borgo Santo Pietro made me feel like a guest from the beginning. Welcome drinks and snacks are served in the restaurant before being escorted to the room and the kindness of the staff impressed me from the beginning.
Overall Borgo Santo Pietro is among the best country hotels I’ve experienced world wide. The extraordinary rooms, attention to detail and the incredible surroundings makes it a memorable experience for even the most discerning travelers.
My opinion: Fantastic experience.
